About RTC Italy

Il Centro Regionale di Formazione dell'Organizzazione Mondiale per la Meteorologia (Regional Training Center of the World Meteorological Organization, RTC-WMO) gestito e diretto dall'IBE-CNR, rientra nella rete di RTC istituita nel 1958 per fornire istruzione e formazione professionale a tutti i livelli nelle regioni WMO (WMO-RA). Il Centro italiano fa parte della Rete Mondiale dei Centri di Formazione del WMO, creati nel 1958, sui quali è basato il Programma di Educazione e Formazione (ETR) dell'OMM.

A oggi, la rete degli RTC è formata da 25 centri con 35 istituzioni e altrettante componenti, che permettono d'identificare e di rispondere ai bisogni regionali, con alcuni dei centri destinati ai membri che non hanno associazioni regionali proprie. L'RTC-IBE serve i Membri del WMO nelle regioni RA-VI (Europa) e RA-I (Africa) nel campo dell'agrometeorologia, della risposta ai cambiamenti climatici e della meteorologia urbana. Il Centro fornisce anche delle soluzioni logistiche per gli studenti, con appoggio finanziario sotto forma di sovvenzione.

About RTC ITALY

The Regional Training Center of the World Meteorological Organization, RTC-WMO, managed and directed by IBE-CNR, is part of the RTC network established in 1958 to provide professional education and training at all levels in the WMO regions (WMO-RA). The Italian Centre is part of the World Network of WMO Training Centres.

The Italian Centre is part of the World Network of WMO Training Centres, created in 1958, the basis of the WMO's Education and Training Programme (ETR). The network of RTCs consists of 25 centres with 35 institutions and as many components, enabling them to identify and respond to regional needs, with some of the centres serving members who do not have regional associations of their own. The RTC-IBE serves WMO Members in the regions RA-VI (Europe) and RA-I (Africa) in agro-meteorology, climate change response and urban meteorology. The Centre also provides logistical solutions for students, with financial support grants.

The RTC ITALY Approach

The methodology of RTC Italy courses includes face-to-face training, conferences, participatory learning activities and professional training.
Thanks to the collaboration with LaMMA - Laboratory of Environmental Monitoring and Modelling for Sustainable Development - we provide high-level weather forecasting courses, including specific technical activities. International lecturers and experts are involved in all training courses and activities. RTC Italy - CNR IBE's trainers, actively participate in commissions and working groups of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), in international teams of experts and cooperate with universities and other national and international research centres, also providing the necessary expertise to deliver training courses in compliance with WMO standards.

Approccio RTC ITALY

La metodologia dei corsi RTC Italy comprende le attività didattiche frontali, conferenze, attività di apprendimento partecipativo e formazione professionale, grazie alla collaborazione con il LaMMA - Laboratorio di Monitoraggio e Modellistica Ambientale per lo sviluppo sostenibile - che assicura corsi di previsione meteorologica di alto livello, comprese attività tecniche specifiche. Inoltre, professori ed esperti italiani e stranieri di livello internazionale sono regolarmente invitati a conferenze e lezioni dei corsi.

I formatori dell'RTC Italy - CNR IBE partecipano attivamente alle commissioni e ai gruppi di lavoro del World Meteorological Organization (WMO), a team internazionali di esperti e cooperano con le università e altri centri di ricerca nazionali e internazionali, assicurando anche le competenze necessarie per fare corsi di formazione conformi alle norme del WMO.
